If the whole neighborhood is dark, that’s FPL. If it’s just your house — or half your house — the problem is usually on your side of the meter, and FPL will tell you to call an electrician anyway. If the service mast or meter can was physically damaged, you need both: we do the repair, coordinate with FPL, and handle the inspection so power can be restored legally.

My breaker keeps tripping. Is that an emergency?
If it trips occasionally under heavy load, book a regular appointment. If it trips instantly every time you reset it, won’t reset at all, or the panel is warm or smells hot — treat it as an emergency and call now.
What should I do while I wait?
If something smells hot or you see smoke, shut off the main breaker and get out. For flooded outlets, kill the breaker for that room and stay off wet floors near anything energized. When in doubt, shut it off — nothing in your panel is worth a house fire.
