My breaker keeps tripping. Is that an emergency?
If it trips occasionally under heavy load, book a regular appointment. If it trips instantly every time you reset it, won’t reset at all, or the panel is warm or smells hot — treat it as an emergency and call now.
What should I do while I wait?
If something smells hot or you see smoke, shut off the main breaker and get out. For flooded outlets, kill the breaker for that room and stay off wet floors near anything energized. When in doubt, shut it off.
