EV Charger Installation in Cape Coral, FL

Level 2 and Tesla home charger installation for Cape Coral garages — panel capacity checked, permit handled, installed by licensed electricians.

Wall-mounted Level 2 EV charger charging an electric SUV in a Cape Coral garage

Charging an EV from a standard garage outlet adds about 3–5 miles of range per hour — fine in a pinch, useless as a daily plan. A dedicated Level 2 charger does the same job 5–8x faster and turns every night into a full tank. Southwest Florida Electric installs EV chargers across Cape Coral: Tesla Wall Connectors, universal Level 2 units (ChargePoint, Emporia, Wallbox and others), and the panel work to support them. Licensed EC13004490, upfront pricing.

What an EV Charger Install Involves in Cape Coral

  • Load check first. We confirm your panel can carry a 40–60A circuit. Many Cape homes can; some older panels can’t — and we’ll tell you which you have before any money changes hands.
  • The circuit. A dedicated 240V run from panel to charger location, sized to the charger and the wire distance.
  • The charger. We install the unit you bought, or supply one — hardwired or NEMA 14-50 outlet, your call (hardwired is our usual recommendation for outdoor and garage installs in Florida humidity).
  • Permit and inspection. Cape Coral requires them for new circuits; both are included.

What It Costs

Most straightforward Cape Coral garage installs — panel nearby, healthy service — run in the $450–$1,500+ range for the electrical work. Long wire runs, exterior mounting, or a panel that needs work move the number up; if a panel upgrade is needed we’ll quote both together so there are no surprises. Written price before we start, always.

Tesla, ChargePoint, or Something Else?

We’re brand-neutral. Tesla Wall Connectors are excellent for Tesla households (and now charge most other EVs with the NACS plug). ChargePoint and Emporia lead the universal field with solid apps and scheduling. Buying advice is free — tell us your car and your panel and we’ll tell you what we’d put in our own garage.

Why Have Us Do It (Instead of the Cheapest Bid on the App)

  • Licensed and insured — EC13004490. A 50-amp circuit is not a handyman job.
  • Permits pulled, inspections passed — skipping the permit can bite you at sale or claim time
  • Upfront pricing — quoted before work starts
  • Local since 2010 — we’ll still be here when you add a second EV

EV Charging Questions We Hear Most

Can my panel handle a charger?
The honest answer is “let us look.” Newer Cape homes usually yes; 70s–80s homes with original 100A panels often need an upgrade or a load-management device. We quote you the real path, not the optimistic one.

Outlet or hardwired?
Hardwired is cleaner, safer outdoors, and usually required for chargers above 48A. A NEMA 14-50 outlet adds flexibility if you move chargers between homes. We install both.

Can you mount it outside? My garage is full.
Yes — outdoor-rated chargers and weatherproof installs are routine here. Florida rain and salt air are exactly why the hardware and workmanship matter.

How long does the install take?
Most are done in half a day once the permit is in hand.
